FAQ

Got a question?
We've got answers.

What is Drafine?
+
Drafine is an editorial and manuscript management platform that brings authors, reviewers, editors, and Editors-in-Chief together in one workspace. It supports manuscript submission, peer review, revisions, editorial decisions, and manuscript tracking across participating journals.
Who can use Drafine?
+
Drafine is used by authors, reviewers, editors, and Editors-in-Chief. Available features and manuscript access depend on the user's role and their journal, manuscript, review, or editorial assignments.
How do I submit a manuscript?
+
Select the journal you wish to submit to, review its journal information and author instructions, and choose Submit manuscript. After signing in or creating an account, you can enter the required manuscript information, add authors, upload the required files, and complete the submission.
What happens after I submit a manuscript?
+
After submission, the manuscript enters the selected journal's editorial workflow. Depending on the journal, it may undergo a technical check and editorial assessment before proceeding to peer review or another editorial action.
How does peer review work in Drafine?
+
When a manuscript proceeds to peer review, reviewers may be invited and assigned through Drafine. Reviewers can access assigned manuscripts, submit their reports and recommendations, and editors can manage the review process according to the journal's configured peer-review model.
Can I track the status of my manuscript?
+
Yes. Authors can follow their manuscripts through their Drafine account. Drafine also provides manuscript tracking using the manuscript ID, allowing authors to quickly check the current status of a submission.
Are journal requirements the same across Drafine?
+
No. Each journal can have its own author instructions, article types, subject areas, peer-review model, publication charges, reviewer guidance, deadlines, and editorial requirements. Authors should review the information provided for the journal before submitting a manuscript.
